MARTINEZ, Calif. – The historic Art in the Park is coming back to our hometown of Martinez on Aug. 16. The event will be held in Susana Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All the art is handcrafted by local artists, and according to longtime Art in the Park coordinator, Cathy Riggs, “all the proceeds from Art in the Park benefit graduating Alhambra kids.”
The free event will feature live music from local artists, including Thomas Martin, D’Angelique, Jessica Leia, The King Crosby Group, and Caroompas Room. Food will be served by local food trucks, and beverage stands will be manned by Viano Winery and the Concord brewery, Epidemic Ales.
The Alhambra Decades Reunion will take place the same weekend, and many of the alumni will be stopping by to see some familiar faces. There will also be plenty of things for kids to do.
And, since parking tends to be an issue during busy weekend events, there will be a free transportation shuttle from the Starbucks Plaza on Main Street to Susana Park.
Come and support your local artists and the upcoming Alhambra High School Class of 2016 at the 46th annual Art in the Park.
