Government offices closed Monday

Labor Day is a federal holiday, and most government buildings will be closed Monday in its observance.

All Contra Costa County offices will be closed Monday, as will most Martinez government and other municipal offices. The Martinez Treatment Plant, 3003 Pacheco Blvd., will be closed for regular business but will be available to handle emergencies.

At Martinez Police Department, 525 Henrietta St., the dispatch office door will be locked, but those needing to communicate with dispatchers on duty will be able to use the gray phone in place for that purpose.

Most mail will not be delivered Monday, and the lobbies of the three local Post Offices will be closed. Those are at 4100 Alhambra Ave., 815 Court St., and 4980 Pacheco Blvd.

However, the John Muir National Historic Site, 4202 Alhambra Ave., will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, and Mount Wanda will be open to the public from sunrise to sunset.
