Singers, songwriters, storytellers, soothsayers, poets, magicians, ventriloquists, comedians, jugglers, mind-readers, plate-spinners, impersonators, hypnotists, parent-and-child acts, stage-trained animals, Eastern Middle dancers, Lindy Hoppers, piano players, jive cats, chamber musicians, bluegrass and acoustic groups, dancers of tap-jazz-or-soft shoe … Martinez Campbell Theater has made an open call for live performers, whatever the on-stage talent, in an upcoming production of vaudeville acts later this year.

“We’re looking for performers of all kinds … within reason,” said Campbell manager Mark Hinds. “No firewalkers, pyrotechnics or questionable acts! This will be a family friendly show. In fact, we want students of all ages to apply as well as adults.”

Before scheduling open auditions, Hinds is requesting written submissions from performers briefly describing their acts, and any video, photos or other graphic representation of the work for further evaluation. Email submissions to: live@campbelltheater.com

“You don’t have to be a Martinez resident,” Hinds said, “but it helps.”
