California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a Wednesday morning traffic collision on Pacheco Boulevard that left one dead and another with minor injuries.
According to CHP officials, a woman driving a silver Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Pacheco Boulevard just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, when the vehicle veered into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with a blue Dodge Dakota truck.
The woman driving the Civic, 27-year-old Tandiwe Myambo, was unresponsive following the collision, and according to CHP officials, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the truck, a 58-year-old Martinez man, complained of pain to his right side after the crash, and was examined on the scene by paramedics.
It’s unknown what led Myambo, a graduate of College Park High School and student of psychology at Diablo Valley College, to allegedly veer into oncoming traffic. The collision is still under investigation by CHP.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact CHP at (925) 646-4980.
