Harrison Barnes netted a career high 39 points to help lead the Sacramento Kings to a 134-133 win over the Warriors Thursday night at Chase Center.
In a rematch from an opening round series in last season’s playoffs, the Warriors got the ball back down by a point with 15 seconds remaining after a missed free throw only to see Steph Curry lose the ball on the offensive end before the Warriors could get a shot off.

Jonathan Kuminga closes on a slam dunk in route to a career high 31 points during the Warriors 134-133 loss to Sacramento Thursday night at Chase Center.
Playing the second game of a back to back after being sidelined for nine days following the death of assistant coach Dejan Milojevic, the Warriors showed no signs of rustiness, shooting a blistering 55.8% from the field, but they couldn’t keep up with the pace of the younger Sacramento squad.
Jonathan Kuminga had a career high 31 points off the bench for Golden State while Curry posted a team high 34. Andrew Wiggins added 17 and Klay Thompson had 16 while Draymond Green recorded a game high 11 assists.
Asked whether he thought about calling a timeout after regaining possession before the games final play, Curry stated “No, we talked about it before both of Huerter’s free throws. Me and coach Kerr agreed we’re going to take it, kind of thinking you’re going to be down three knowing he’s a good shooter. He missed the first one, so we’re still going to go expecting he was going to make the second one, knowing you’ll be down two, and kind of the same situation. Once he missed the second one Klay got a great rebound but we already committed to going and at that point it’s obviously chaos. Once JK (Kuminga) gave it to me, at that point that’s probably where the timeout, I should have seen it, or coach, just to know there’s like eight people on one side of the court. We had the screen, they trapped, and I tried to get it back to Draymond to see what could happen. So I would say there probably should have been a timeout right when I got the ball, and turned, and saw that the court wasn’t balanced right, and we still had plenty of time. But the chaos of the moment, you’re trying to make a play, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.”
De’Aaron Fox scored 29 for the Kings while Domantas Sabonis had 18 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists.

Domantas Sabonis powers down a basket on the way to an 18 point effort during the Kings 134-133 win over the Warriors Thursday night.
The Warriors return to action Saturday night for a nationally televised game with the Los Angeles Lakers. Tipoff is at 5:30PM.
