Oakland’s Ross Stripling delivers a pitch against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the way to his first win of the season Wednesday afternoon at the Coliseum.

Stripling (1-5) had lost ten straight games going back to his final outing as a San Francisco Giant but was sharp Wednesday, allowing just three hits and retiring the last seven batters he faced. The A’s fourth straight win and sixth in their last seven games moved them within two games (15-17) of .500 and gave them their first sweep of the season.

GAME NOTES:
Oakland recorded their 15th win of the season in their 32nd game, 33 games ahead of last season’s pace when it took them 65 games.

The A’s bullpen extended their scoreless streak to 27.1 innings, tied for the fourth longest streak in Oakland history.
