Obituary: Jeanette Von Konsky (1943-2022)

Martinez resident Frances Jeannette Fultz Von Konsky born May 25, 1943 in Exeter in Tulare County, passed away on July 5th.

She was the second of four children. The family had a ranch in Woodlake, Ca. with olive groves. She had her own horse and was voted rodeo queen as a teenager. She graduated from Woodlake High School in 1961. During her teens she was an avid fan of all Bay Area sports, which eventually led her to pursue a teaching credential at Fresno State College, as a Physical Education Teacher. She taught for 27 years at Mt. Diablo High School and 10 years at Northgate High School where she retired.

While running a 10k race on Valentine’s Day at Lake Merritt, she met Dick Von Konsky. On their second date, he proposed, but it took her 6 months to say yes. They were married for 40 years sharing many adventures on cruises. In the early years they traveled aboard Wind Jammer sailing vessels, which Jeannette loved, and later aboard larger cruise ships. She loved dancing with her husband, water and snow skiing, and going to many professional sports activities. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard von Konsky, and her brother Ron Fultz of Reno and her brother in law Terry Rose of Visalia. She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Ruby Fultz, her brother Bob Fultz, sister Kathy Rose and her step daughter who she helped raise from age 11 to adulthood, Becky Von Konsky.

Family members request that you remember her in your prayers and recall her in your memories.
