Spring in the air …

martinezredshoulderedhawk2015BnewsThis red-shouldered hawk was recently captured on camera north of the soccer field at Hidden Lakes Park by Martinez photographer Warren Rose. Rose added: “While the calendar shows that it’s still winter in this part of California, spring has arrived. Baseball leagues are being formed and, shortly, we will hear the mating vocals of the red-tailed hawks in the sky above Martinez. Ponds will soon be filled with ducklings and goslings. Buds and blossoms adorn many trees and soon the bare branches that expose our aviary friends will once again provide cover for nests. It is a great time for nature photography!” (WARREN ROSE / Courtesy)
