Community Emergency Response Team class taking registration

MARTINEZ, Calif. – The CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Basic Training Class still has space for the Saturday, March 18 class. Class runs for four consecutive Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Martinez City Council Chambers, 525 Henrietta St., Martinez.

CERT teaches residents about emergency preparedness and disaster response for major emergencies and disasters. CERT is a nationwide FEMA program sponsored by the Police Department to help residents and business employees get prepared and not become disaster victims.

All classes are free and open to residents of Martinez, Pacheco and employees who work in those locations. To register for classes go to the CERT website at
