Carjacking reported on Blue Ridge, Roanoke drives

MARTINEZ, Calif. – A vehicle was stolen by force and the suspect apprehended Monday, according to Martinez Police.

Around 11 a.m. Monday, March 20, a Martinez Police officer was on patrol in the area of Blue Ridge and Roanoke drives when flagged down by a citizen. The citizen reported their vehicle had just been stolen in their presence, with the suspect using force. The vehicle was last seen heading west on Blue Ridge Drive.

Police searched the area and the vehicle was spotted traveling north on Alhambra Valley Road near Gilbert Court. The vehicle was stopped and the sole occupant of the vehicle, 31-year-old Clayton Conroy, was detained.

The owner of the vehicle responded to the scene and identified Conroy as the suspect.

No one was injured during the incident and Conroy was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on carjacking charges and alleged violation of his probation terms.
