Our beloved Michael passed away at 6:24 a.m. on May 19, 2021 in Martinez.
Family and friends blessed to have been part of his journey through life and to have known such a caring, loving husband, brother, uncle and friend.
Michael was a quiet sole, but his presence was felt deeply by all who knew him and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Michael was born to Harold and Emma Mason in Champagne, Illinois on December 16, 1945.
He married the love of his life, Susan Leineweber (Mason), in 1984. They loved to travel and over the years visited England, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Santorini, Czech Republic, Belgium and Hawaii.
Michael served in the Army and was a proud veteran. Michael competed in several Triathlons in California and Hawaii and had a successful career as a computer programmer for over 20 years at Bank of America.
Michael will always be remembered by his brother Tim Mason; his sisters-in law Barbara Mason, Stephanie Annatone; brother-in law Michael Annatone; nieces Jennifer Annatone, Valarie Annatone, Heather Leineweber, Alexa Keeney, Katie Hayner; grand-nieces Juliet, Taylor, Alexandria, Parker; grand-nephew Joshua and numerous cousins.
Kittens were a big part of his life and those that he loved – Pepper, Smoke, Sadie, Rocky, Jeff and Libby.
In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in Michael’s memory to Disabled American Veterans and/or the SPCA.
