Janelle Salaün scored 21 points off the bench and Kayla Thornton added 20 including four three pointers as the Golden State Valkyries held off the Toronto Tempo for a second straight game, 92-81 on Tuesday night at Chase Center.

Veronica Burton pitched in 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists as the Valkyries completed a three game season series sweep of the expansion Toronto franchise. Salaun shot 8 for 12 with four three pointers to give her 61 points in the three meetings with the Tempo. Gabby Williams finished with ten points and seven rebounds.
Nyara Sabally scored 21 points and Maria Conde had 17 points and six rebounds for the Tempo, who welcomed back leading scorer Marina Mabrey after she sat out Sunday’s game with a neck injury. Mabrey scored 12 points on 4-for-11 shooting over 35 minutes to go along with five rebounds and six assist as Toronto lost their seventh straight and 11th out of 12.

Aneesah Morrow made her debut with Toronto after being acquired in a trade with the Connecticut Sun on Friday. Morrow entered the game with just under five minutes left in the first quarter and hit a three about a minute later for the first of her eight points to go along with five rebounds.
Toronto made 13 of its first 22 shots — going 8 for 14 from three point range, to take a 38-25 lead midway through the second quarter. But the Valkyries ended the half on a 16-4 run to pull within 42-41 at the break.
The Valkyries return to the court Friday night in Dallas with a 6:30 tipoff against the Wings.
GAME NOTES:
The win was Golden State’s eleventh in its last 13 games.
The Valkyries scored 90+ points for the second straight game, the third time this season they have scored 90+ points in consecutive games.
