The girls varsity lacrosse team broke their losing streak at the right time, and they did it in style on a blustery Wednesday night.

Their 15-5 win over Clayton Valley Charter was a big win for the Bulldogs, as they stopped their recent skid at nine losses in a row.

With only four games left on the schedule, the Bulldogs girls burst out and put up their second biggest scoring output of the season to easily beat Clayton Valley.

They got things going pretty quickly from the opening whistle, with Audrey Pardini scoring first within two minutes to put Alhambra up for good.

Lexi Rosales followed up Pardini’s effort, and captain Luiza Daberdaku scored the third one.

After Sarah Mills finished off a shot by Kelby Fuss that came off the goalkeeper, Fuss opened her account by scoring at the near post.

Those two goals forced the Clayton Valley team to call a time out and re-organized their defense, which was in shambles.

Not much changed after the time out.

Clayton Valley did score two minutes after the time out, but they weren’t scoring at the same rate as Alhambra. Daberdaku scored her second of the day, while Fuss also notched her second two minutes later.

Against Clayton Valley scored, and again the Bulldogs found an answer. The final three minute of the first half were the only period of time where the teams looked even close to evenly matched.

Even then the Bulldogs went into the half up 8-3, in full control.

In the second half, the Bulldog girls turned it on to another gear and pulled away.

Fuss opened the second-half scoring output by scoring a backhanded goal at the near post, and that opened the floodgates.

Pardini scored again assisted by Emily Ramos, and the Bulldogs opened up a 12-3 lead before Clayton Valley could get back on the score board again.

Sarah Mills scored again before the teams traded a couple of goals in garbage time when the score had long since been decided.

With the win Bulldogs improve to 5-10, but will still be looking for their first DFAL win.

They take on Ygnacio Valley on Monday, May 2, which will be a competitive match up before their final week of DFAL play.

The Bulldogs will celebrate senior night on May 3 against Acalanes before ending their season on April 6 against Las Lomas.

The Bulldogs have already equaled their win total from last year, and will be looking to set a new record.
