Congratulations to Martinez-based Barrelista Coffee House & Cafe on being recognized by the Contra Costa Sanitary District during the 2016 Pollution Prevention Awards. The awards were held Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Hilton Concord. Barrelista, 736 Main St., Martinez, was recognized “for using compostable food trays, cutlery and cups; and serving iced espresso drinks in reusable mason jars which customers can take with them and reuse during their next visit, reducing waste.” (COURTESY / On File)
