Nominations sought for Citizen of Year Awards

MARTINEZ, Calif. – The Martinez Chamber of Commerce announced this week that it is now accepting letters of nomination for the annual  Citizen of the Year Awards. The awards are given in the following categories: Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Young Man of the Year, Young Woman of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Service Without Borders and Educator/Teacher of the Year.

To nominate someone for any of these categories, visit or contact the Chamber for a Citizen of the Year Guideline Form. Then, write a letter stating why you believe the person deserves the award. The more information that you provide gives your nominee a better chance of being an awardee.

Contact information and nominees contact information, including address and telephone number on the letter is required for the nomination to be accepted.

The Citizen of the Year Awards is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Saturday, April 15.

The deadline for all nominations is 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24.

Please send letters of nomination or any inquiries to the Martinez Chamber of Commerce, 603 Marina Vista Ave., Martinez, CA 94553. Letters can be faxed to (925) 228-2356, Attention: Citizen of the Year Nomination, or emailed to, Attention: Citizen of the Year Nomination.
