Jonathan Kuminga goes up for a shot against the Timberwolves Sunday night on the way to a 20 point, seven rebound effort against Minnesota during the Warriors 114-106 win at Chase Center.

Golden State’s largest scoring quarter of the year turned a nine point halftime deficit into a 93-90 advantage after three and a swarming defense held Minnesota to 16 points in the final quarter as the Warriors won for just the second time in their last eight games while snapping a five game losing streak and avenged a loss to the Wolves two nights ago. The Warriors were down by as much as 12 points before turning the game around, marking the team’s fourth double figure comeback on the season

Steph Curry led the way with 30 points and eight assists, including a 39 foot jumper from just inside halfcourt to beat the third quarter buzzer, and Buddy Hield added 27 points while converting seven three pointers to lead the Warriors. Jonathan Kuminga pitched in 20 points and seven rebounds with three blocked shots while Kevon Looney contributed 12 points and nine boards in just 21 minutes of play.

Anthony Edwards paced Minnesota with 27 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists. Julius Randle had 14 points and 11 rebounds while Nickeil Alexander-Walker had 19 points off the bench for the Timberwolves.

Curry was quick to credit his teammates for the win, “Buddy (Hield) was huge for us tonight, JK (Kuminga) in the second half was huge for us. We have to make the game as simple as possible. When we get in trouble the chaos creates confusion, and then you start turning the ball over, and that affects morale, and momentum swings quickly. We controlled every possession, I threw one turnover at the beginning of the fourth, and then it didn’t feel like we had any after that because we were just organized.”

The Warriors now travel to Houston for a rematch against the Rockets in a NBA Cup quarterfinal game Wednesday evening. Golden State defeated Houston 99-93 in San Francisco three nights ago for their 15th straight win against the Rockets.
